R.E.A.C.T (Becoming part of the CRASH response 2222 team)

R.E.A.C.T. (Resuscitation Emergency Assessment Clinical Teaching)

Please feel free to contact one of the resuscitation team if you are interested in spending a day, or a set period of time, on the CRASH team where you can be exposed to emergency situations.

You are able to access the REACT Service if you are a Student Nurse/AHP in your 3rd year, a Medical Student in your 5th year, 1st or 2nd Foundation Year Doctor or a Registered Health Care Professional.

Whilst carrying the REACT bleep, it is advisable that you are in a supernumerary capacity in your designated clinical area. This will allow you to respond to 2222 calls as you will be furnished with the resuscitation bleep (683).

You will have the opportunity to shadow the Duty Resuscitation Officer in a clinical capacity but this will require the approval of your line manager of where you are currently based, supported with an application.

Please click on the link to download an application for R.E.A.C.T. and contact the Clinical Resuscitation Officer on 01253 957842 (Bleep 053) or email bfwh.resususcitation@nhs.net to discuss your attachment further.

All applicants MUST have completed an application form and downloaded and filled in the relevant sections of the paperwork located in USEFUL DOCUMENTS. Failure to do so will delay your application being processed.

Prior to your attachment, please can students make contact with the Practice Placement Facilitators (PEFs) to ensure they encourage this placement prior to submitting an application. Once  your application has been accepted, you are expected to have read both procedural documents situated in the Downloads section to the right. A location map is also placed there, if you are unfamiliar with the layout of the hospital.
