Quality Control

Quality Control

The Medical Education Department is the LEP for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and fulfils a statutory role in Quality Control, namely ensuring that medical students and postgraduate medical trainees receive education and training that meets the local, national, and professional standards set by the GMC. The fulfilment of these standards is overseen by NHS E.

The Medical Education Department has embedded Quality Assurance Programme for trainees and trainers, please see the Quality Assurance page for more information.  As part of its Quality Control processes, the Medical Education Department seeks feedback from trainers in order to identify both areas of good practice and areas for improvement. An annual Trainer Survey is conducted by the Department and the results are used to enable the Medical Education Department to provide additional support to trainers.
