LUCAS – Mechanical Chest Compression Device Training
This training is a 1/2 day session covering the following topics: competency and confidence when deploying the device, establishing and maintaining the correct position of the device and understanding and contraindications for each taught technique.
This course is suitable for all staff within the following areas: Resuscitation, Accident & Emergency/Critical Care Outreach Service/Acute Response Team/Cardiac Catheter Lab/Simulation & Skills Centre & Senior Acute Medical Unit Staff who are ALS providers.
During the session, candidates will complete simulation practical training and gain competency in using the device. Once certification has been obtained, it is valid for 1 year. There is an expectation that candidates complete the pre-reading prior to attending the course.
