Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2

Role – Responsible for assisting the team of accountants with junior accounting duties. These can vary massively depending on the team structure and size of business.

Who – This apprenticeship can be used to support new members of staff into the organisation as apprentices. Existing members of staff can also enrol onto this apprenticeship if they do not hold an existing qualification in Accounts or Finance.

Delivery Model – This apprenticeship can be completed in the workplace

Duration – Typically 15-18 months including End Point Assessment (EPA)

Entry Requirements – If English and maths at Grade C/4 have not been previously achieved, will be required to achieve Level 1 English and maths and to have taken, as a minimum, the level 2 English and maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

Link to Professional Registration – Completion of this apprenticeship will be able to apply for the appropriate level of professional membership aligned with this apprenticeship.

Assistant Accountant Level 3

Role – Assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. May also have some involvement in completion of VAT returns and/or preparation of tax computations.

Who – This apprenticeship can be used to support new members of staff into the organisation as apprentices. Existing members of staff can also enrol onto this apprenticeship if they do not hold an existing qualification in Accounts or Finance.

Delivery Model – This apprenticeship can be completed in the workplace

Duration – Typically 15-18 months including End Point Assessment (EPA)

Entry Requirements – If English and maths at Grade C/4 have not been previously achieved, Functional Skills English and maths at level 2 will be completed alongside the apprenticeship.

Progression – This apprenticeship provides the foundation for progression into a number of career paths in the Accounting sector including Audit Trainee, Corporate Recovery Analyst, Credit Controller or Tax Accountant.

Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician Level 4

Role – Will have the responsibility for creating, and/or verifying and reviewing, accurate and timely financial information within the organisation in which they are employed or on behalf of another organisation.

Who – This apprenticeship can be used to support new members of staff into the organisation as apprentices. Existing members of staff can also enrol onto this apprenticeship to further their knowledge and skills.

Delivery Model – This apprenticeship can be completed in the workplace

Duration – Typically 18-24 months including End Point Assessment (EPA)

Entry Requirements – If English and maths at Grade C/4 have not been previously achieved, Functional Skills English and maths at level 2 will be completed alongside the apprenticeship.
