Can a job applicant receive job vacancy alerts?

Yes, when registering the NHS Jobs website will ask whether the job applicant would like to be alerted via text or email to a type of particular jobs when advertised.

Can an application be saved mid attempt?

Yes, an application can be saved and gone back to at a later date.

How do I requisition a vacancy?

Recruiting Managers can requisition new vacancy's by completing a web based requisition form at http://bfwnet/departments/hr/wbv/new_vacancy.asp . For any requisition to be submitted the manager must first have an approved job description, person specification & advert. The job description & person specification must have been through the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Process.

If there is a potential problem with the application who can the job applicant contact?

The NHS Jobs servicedesk should be contacted. On the NHS Jobs website there is a link named Contact us which takes the applicant through to the help desk screen. This gives them the option to complete a support form.

Is there a time limit to applying for a position?

Yes - the position closes at midnight of the closing date of the vacancy.

Please note in cases where a high volume of applications are received for a post, the closing date may be brought forward. Therefore applicants are advised to submit their completed application form as early as possible.

Once the application has been submitted, how does a job applicant know if they have been short-listed?

Candidates who have been successful will receive an offer of an invite to interview. All unsuccessful candidates (internal or external) will receive an e-mail through NHS Jobs, advising them that they have not been short listed.

Someone has left the department and I want to replace them. What do I need to do?

The recruiting line manager will need to complete the REC1 Form and Risk Assessment Form, and follow the approval process.

What happens when an application is submitted?

The application form is loaded into a secure area of the organisations administration. Access is only available to recruitment administrators that are processing the vacancy.

Once the vacancy is at short listing stage - part B of the application form is forwarded to the appointing manager to complete this stage. Please note no personal information is ever forwarded to the appointing manager to view.

Where are application details found and how is it filled in?

All job vacancies are advertised on the NHS Jobs website. The job applicant will need to register for an account on NHS Jobs before applying to the post.
