Staff Hypnotherapy

Occupational Health offers a free, and confidential hypnotherapy service

What is hypnotherapy?

“A confidential and professional service for personal and work-related issues, and to offer employees the opportunity to explore and clarify concerns to make necessary changes"

How does it work?

Hypnosis works by the induction of a trance like state, during which the client is in an enhanced state of awareness. It is during this state that the therapist can suggest ideas and concepts of lifestyle changes.

Misconceptions about hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis does not involve being put to sleep. Hypnosis will not make you do anything that you don't want to, you are still in control. During hypnosis you will aware of your surroundings and situations, and will remember everything that is said to you.

What do I need to do during the sessions?

You must want to change something in your life, and be motivated and proactive in doing it.

Hypnosis is effective in many ways here are just a few:

  • Phobias
  • Panic attacks
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Deep relaxation
  • Confidence building
  • Raising self esteem
  • IBS
  • Pain
  • Addictions

How many sessions will I need?

Each person's needs and requirements are different. Therefore each case is assessed on an individual basis.

How long does the session last?

The session lasts for no more than one hour.

Can I access the service?

The hypnotherapy service is available to all Trust employees.

However, due to a high demand on the service and an increase in non-attendance, we no longer accept self-referrals, your manager will need to complete an on-line management referral form on your behalf.

How do I make a referral?

Your Manager will need to fill in an on-line management referral on your behalf.

Please have a look at our Hypnotherapy leaflet for more information about the service.
