New Starters – Your Onboarding Journey

...it starts here!

Welcome once again

Having accessed this information, this means that you must have been provided with your Digital Identity/Smartcard, have a working email address and have been shown how to access this.

Step 1 – Complete

Let’s begin the journey into helping you to become part of your team, part of the Blackpool Teaching Hospital (BTH) family and where you can begin to actively contribute towards the goals of your team and the Trust. We want you to feel comfortable, integrated, and an inspired and motivated member of BTH.

There are 3 main steps that we ask you to undertake as part of your onboarding journey. These are:

Step 1 – 'Finding Your Feet' Booklet

We have produced a ‘Finding your Feet Induction Booklet’ which we would love you to read through and hopefully enjoy! This is packed with valuable information about working for the Trust, our policies, procedures and systems, and the values and behaviours we strive to see in ourselves and each other, every day. Do go through this at your own pace.

You can access Finding your Feet via the link at the bottom of this page.

Step 2- Your Local Induction

You will soon realise the BTH has such diverse working environments which differ between divisions, department, and teams. With the need to ensure the safety wellbeing of all our staff, we must be sure that you receive all the necessary information for your area.

Your manager has been sent the Local Induction 'checklist' form to make sure you have all the information you need.   Your colleagues will also be there to navigate you through your onboarding period, answer questions and show you the practices and processes in your area.

Step 3 – The Welcome Breakfast and Market Place Event

You will shortly receive a calendar invite to the next Welcome Breakfast & Market Place event which we encourage you to attend. This is informal and friendly event where you will meet 1 or 2 of the Executives, before discovering a broad range of initiatives and schemes that are here to support you professionally, personally and for your own wellbeing. More details, once again, can be found in Finding your Feet.
