Patients and Visitors

Facemasks must be worn in Clinical areas at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals

Seasonal respiratory viruses continue to circulate in the community but there has been a sharp reduction in cases of influenza and RSV.

COVID-19 case numbers have also fallen but inpatient numbers at BTH still exceed the threshold agreed by the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board for relaxing mask-wearing in all areas.

Therefore mask wearing for colleagues, patients and visitors has been relaxed in non-clinical areas (such as offices and corridors) but must be worn in clinical areas.

Facemasks will be available to visitors upon arrival at our sites.
