STAFF on the Surgical Assessment Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital have recently been presented with some beautifully hand painted personalised stones.
More than 40 stones were created by Stacey Andrews, an ICU Nurse based in Preston who was given a picture of all staff members on the ward and provided a bespoke hand painted stone for each member of staff with words from the famous song “You’ll Never Walk Alone’’ included on the stone.
Sister Carole Murphy helped organise the donations. She said: “Stacey contacted me about the idea which I thought was fantastic. This has been a really tough time for all staff and I think it is fair to say there have been a few wobbles along the way.
“The stones are a reminder though that every member of staff on the ward has been a rock for someone and they should be proud of everything they have done. They are beautiful gifts and everyone is so, so grateful to Stacey.’’
