New Deputy Medical Director for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals

DR Grahame Goode has been appointed as the Director of Clinical Effectiveness and Deputy Medical Director at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Goode will support the Trust’s new Medical Director, Dr Jim Gardner and will also take on the new role of Director of Clinical Effectiveness.

Grahame trained in Birmingham, Leicester and Manchester where he was a Clinical Lecturer at the University.

He has been working at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre at Blackpool as a consultant since 1997.and managed the cardiac department for 10 years as clinical Director and has been the Divisional Director for Unscheduled Care Division.

Dr Goode said: “I am extremely excited to be taking on this role.

“This Trust is a very special place to work with exceptional staff.

“I will work closely with our staff, our Fylde coast partners and the wider Integrated Care System (ICS) to ensure we drive our quality agenda and provide the best care possible for our patients.’’

Dr Jim Gardner, Medical Director, said: “I am genuinely delighted that Grahame has been appointed to the new role of Director of Clinical Effectiveness and Deputy Medical Director.

“Grahame has a proven track record of clinical leadership, and the appointment represents a significant increase in our capacity to lead improvements in patient safety, clinical quality and effectiveness.”
