North Piers comedy compere, Joey Blower
North Pier’s compere and funny man, Joey Blower, has been singing the praises of the NHS.
Joey is celebrating his 25th season in the Merrie England bar this year too.
He said: “The NHS has served me well since I’ve been born.
“I was born in a NHS hospital, my children have been born in an NHS hospital. My mother was looked after by the NHS as was my grandmother.
“The NHS in general and Blackpool Victoria Hospital specifically have been life saving for me. All my family have been involved with the hospital and it’s just been an incredible experience.
“The NHS has had an incredible 70 year journey. Long may it continue in its current form for another 700 years.”
