Emergency Department Recruitment Day

Think you’ve got what it takes to work in the Emergency Department at your local hospital? Blackpool Teaching Hospitals are now recruiting for both Emergency Department Assistants (EDA) and Staff Nurses with interviews taking place on a special ED Recruitment Day at the hospital on Tuesday, 22 November between 9am and 5pm.

There’s no experience necessary for the EDA roles, and at the recruitment day we will be interviewing for the roles with no appointment required, we might even offer a job on the day.

The Emergency Department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital covers and provides a service to a population of approximately 450,000 residents, increasing during our busy holiday seasons. We consider the department to be an innovative, creative and friendly environment for those healthcare professionals who wish to provide high quality patient centred care.

The ideal candidate will have a can do attitude and be working with people of a similar mind who are as motivated as you are to deliver high standards of care in a supportive, responsive and cheery environment. The applicant should be aware the post is extremely busy and candidates should be organised, I.T literate and able to prioritise a multitude of demands. Previous experience in care and experience in an Emergency Department is desirable but not essential.

Speaking about the roles, Julieanne Arnold-Turner, Practice Development Sister said: “No qualifications are required, but it helps if you want to work in a busy area, want to learn and want to be involved with patient care.”
