Reduced visiting has been introduced for families and friends of patients on all wards at Blackpool Victoria Hospital as part of the ongoing management of an incident at the Women and Children’s Unit.
Visitors who feel unable to postpone their visit are asked to contact the relevant ward team before setting off to discuss their needs and make arrangements. This does not include terminally ill patients who are receiving end of life care, who can receive visitors at any time.
Thank you to all patients, visitors and colleagues for your support, understanding and patience as we manage the incident. These arrangements will remain in place for the rest of the day and be continually reviewed until the situation is resolved.
