Janet Barnsley, Executive Director of Integrated Care at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, has given an updated on the ongoing critical incident at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
She said: “I’m pleased to report that we started to move back into the Women and Children’s unit earlier today and we’re now in the formal recovery and restoration phase of the incident that was declared earlier this week. We are expecting to finish this work on Monday.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their hard work and patience during this week. We understand that our patients and colleagues have been affected and we’ve worked hard to minimise this impact.
“We’ve greatly appreciated our community’s continued support during the course of this incident and this will be welcomed over the weekend. Please continue to think before attending our Emergency Department and use NHS111 online for advice and guidance.”
