NHS Trust recognised as a Disability Confident employer

BLACKPOOL Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been recognised for its commitment to making the most of the talents of disabled people.

The Trust has been recognised as a Disability Confident employer by the Government for its efforts to ensure that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.

To achieve the standards required the trust had to undergo a details self-assessment of its practices and provide evidence of its commitment to supporting disabled people.

Tina Daniels, the Trust’s Equality & Diversity Lead, said: “We are delighted to have received the Disability Confident accreditation which emphasises the Trust’s commitment to recruiting, supporting and developing, disabled people.

“We actively look to attract, recruit and develop disabled people and provide an environment that is inclusive and accessible for staff, clients and customers and provide mentoring, coaching, buddying and/or other support networks.’’
