Legendary comic helps boost morale amid Covid-19 pandemic

A legendary comedian is helping to boost NHS staff morale as staff continue to fight the Covid19 pandemic.

Bobby Ball, one half of comedy duo, Cannon and Ball has fronted a video using the comics’ famous theme tune, Together We’ll Be OK and are joined by various members of staff from Blackpool Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Bobby said: “I was asked if I could get involved with the video by singing the song from staff at Blackpool Hospitals who we have helped before over the years. As my wife Yvonne and I are self-isolating at the moment, Yvonne acted as camera woman on the mobile phone.

“Yvonne and I were keen to do what is needed to put a smile on the faces of NHS staff who are all working incredibly hard at the moment. If we have helped anybody feel a bit brighter under the current circumstances, then we are really happy. After all, Together We’ll Be OK.”

The video features some of the Trust’s staff echoing the sentiment of being OK if everyone unites and pulls together.

Chief Executive of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Kevin McGee, said: “In these difficult times I am so proud of the staff at our hospitals and in our community services for the work they are doing in keeping our communities safe.

“All our staff are under tremendous pressure but they display professionalism, dedication and the most wonderful duty of care. Thank you all.”
