Complementary treats for Clifton Hospital staff

Andrea Bradley enjoys some reflexology from therapist Audrey DicksonHard working NHS staff at a St Annes hospital have been treated to some relaxing holistic therapies.

AB Complementary Therapies, based at Therapy House, St Annes, treated staff at Clifton Hospital, Pershore Road, to a day of pamper treatments to help them relax and boost their sense of wellbeing.

Owner and holistic therapist, Ana Bianchi Grewal, said: “My colleague Audrey and I were invited to come along to Clifton to treat the staff to reflexology, facial reflexology and Indian Head massages.

“We treated more than 20 staff all of whom felt more relaxed and energised following their treatment. It’s been a delight to be able to offer our services to the staff from every department especially as we are all part of the same community.”

Medical Records Clerk, Andrea Bradley, enjoyed a reflexology session. She said: “The treatment was amazing, so relaxing. I feel so much better. I am energised for the rest of the day now.”

Ana, who has been a therapist for 15 years performed Indian Head massage on Ward 3 nurse, Savannah Hull who said: “What a wonderful gesture to treat the staff to these therapies. I now feel wonderful and chilled.”

Between them Ana and Audrey provide a whole host of therapies to promote relaxation and healing. The therapies include aromatherapy, various types of massage, Reiki, The Perrin Technique and specialised treatments for oncology patients.

Ana added: “We offer treatments that can help with all sorts of conditions so it is great to be able to help such busy staff. Hopefully, we can offer regular services to both Clifton and Blackpool Victoria Hospitals as we are sure that staff would benefit from regular sessions of ‘me’ time.”

Clinical Matron, Courtney Bickerdike said: “I was delighted to see the therapists here as this has given the staff such a positive boost which will help with their own health and wellbeing.”
