‘Cake Off’ raises funds for Blackpool hospital’s Macmillan Unit

Members of the Cancer Services team

A ‘Cake Off’ competition and Coffee Morning at Blackpool Victoria Hospital raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event was organised by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Cancer Services team and hospital volunteers.

Karen Kay, a shift manager in the Emergency Department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, was the winner of the Cake Off with her M&Ms cake.

Karen said Macmillan had supported her family when her much-loved stepdad Granville Bridge was ill.  She said the entire team was “brilliant”.

Christine Jesson from Carleton and Apryl Jesson from Blackpool were just two of the visitors who enjoyed the cakes earlier this morning.
