We do this by:
- Clearly setting out our equality and diversity objectives at all levels of the Trust – a comprehensive guide to these can be found in our Equality and Diversity Strategy.
- Carrying out Equality Impact Assessments to assess how new policies and changes or additions to our services could affect groups of people differently.
- Using the NHS Equality Delivery System – a national toolkit that helps us to provide better working practices and environments, free from discrimination.
Equality Impact Assessments
Equality Impact Assessments help us consider the impact of proposed policies procedures and strategies, to ensure we don’t discriminate against certain groups of people. The assessment is usually published within, or next to, the document.
The Trust prepares an Annual Report which includes Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) information which acts as a position statement informing future plans, and developments in EDI, and includes information required by the Public Sector Equality Duty and the Equality Delivery System report.
