Thanks for all your support

Deputy Chief Executive, Nicki Latham

I am delighted to be writing my first blog to staff since joining the Trust’s board on a permanent basis recently as Director of Strategic Partnerships and sharing the Deputy Chief Executive role with Tim Bennett.

I would firstly like to thank everyone who has made me feel so welcome in the role so far and thank everyone who has helped me settle into the post. I had spent some time here in my previous role working for NHS Improvement prior to joining full time and I was always really impressed with the commitment, dedication and skills of the staff and the friendliness of the organisation.

The COVID situation has meant that I haven’t been out and about anywhere near as much as I would have liked but I am really keen to see as many people as possible over the next few months.

I have been able to attend a couple of events in recent weeks though. I was privileged to raise the rainbow flag at BVH to mark the national PRIDE celebrations and delighted to be at the official opening of Operation Wingman and meet and thank the airline staff who have so kindly donated their time to help and support our staff with their first class lounge which was so well received but sadly ends today.

A major part of my role will be to focus on the Trust’s restoration plan and help draw up plans detailing how we can start to get services up and running again and working alongside the work we are doing with COVID. I will also be looking to strengthen our partnerships locally, regionally and nationally to help move the Trust forward any way I can. Everything I do will have a focus on quality, safety and the patient and staff experience and I am always keen to hear your ideas about how we can make improvements.

If you have any ideas of where we can improve or develop services please email me on nicki.latham1@nhs.net. I would be delighted to hear from you and come and visit you in your place of work. Many thanks again and thank you for all you are doing.
