Covid-19 simulation success

The Trust has held its 100th Covid-19 simulation session.

Staff in the Simulation and Skills Centre at Blackpool Victoria Hospital started the training at the end of March and more than 500 members of staff have now been through the extensive training package that gives them the tools and support needed to deal with Covid patients.

Clinical Fellows in Medical Education, Dr Laura Horne, and Dr Alex Muston, oversee the training with members of the Sim and Skills and Education teams.

Laura said:  “The education and simulation teams have worked relentlessly to deliver high quality simulation-based experiential learning on the safe use of PPE and the management of cardiac arrest during the pandemic.

“We have seen great dedication and enthusiasm from staff of all disciplines who have attended; this has been really inspiring.”
