Meet Your School Nurse

Joelle

Hi, my name is Joelle. I have worked within the Blackpool School Nursing team since 2011, first as a Staff Nurse and then as School Nurse. Recently, I have moved into the Team Leader role which means I support the team to deliver the best care possible to you and your family.  I am passionate about all aspects of health and wellbeing for children and young people. I live locally in Blackpool with my family and like keeping fit by taking walks on the beach and in Stanley Park.

Steph

Hello, my name is Stephanie, but most people call me Steph. I have previously worked as an Intensive Care Nurse, and as a Community Nurse, before joining the Blackpool School Nursing Team. School Nursing is such a rewarding role and gives me the opportunity to make a real difference for children, young people and families. I have two dogs called Dexter and Darcy – my favourite thing in the world is to spend time with them! If I won the lottery my dream would be to open a dog sanctuary! (Alongside being a School Nurse, of course!)

Steph

Hello my name is Stephanie but I prefer to be called Steph, I have been a paediatric nurse for 22 years working in both the hospital on the children’s wards, and in the community. I am loving my role within the school nursing team, working with children is extremely rewarding.  I love reading,  and watching Marvel movies with my family, I love relaxing on holidays, especially at the caravan.

Bethany

Hi, my name is Bethany. I recently joined the Blackpool School Nursing team after working in A & E and on the Children's wards. I absolutely love being part of the School Nursing team and feel passionate about promoting the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families across Blackpool. If I had one dream it would be to win the lottery and donate lots of money to charities and services that support children and adults with autism and other neuro-developmental conditions so people affected by these conditions could live their best possible lives.

Kathryn

Hello,  my name is Kathryn, I am a School Nurse Specialist Practitioner and have worked as part of the Blackpool School Nursing team since 2011 across many different schools. I love being a School Nurse and for me the most rewarding part of the job is having the chance to help children and young people with their health and wellbeing. When I’m not at work I love to bake cakes and enjoy spending time with my family, I especially love going on holiday with them to Devon which is one of my favourites places to visit.

Sharon

Hi there, my name is Sharon and I have worked within school nursing since 2010. Within that time, I spent 5 years working in special schools with children and young people with special needs and disabilities. I came back to mainstream schools last year and am loving it. I was born in Liverpool and have lived in Blackpool for 9 years but still have a Liverpool accent. I have been a vegetarian since I was 15 years old and like to eat a healthy diet but at times, I like junk food too. I am a very good listener and approachable. I care about offering support to children and young people with emotional or health needs.
