Description
  1. Please tell us which Trust, Health Board or Health and Social Care Trust you are responding on behalf of?
  2. Do you conduct multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) scans before first prostate biopsy as part of the initial diagnostic process?
    1. Yes, using T2-weighted, diffusion-weighted (multi-b ADC and high/long b) and dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) sequences
    2. Yes, using T2-weighted, diffusion-weighted (multi-b ADC and high/long b) sequences but not DCE
    3. No
  3. Do you refer men to another Trust/centre for mpMRI before biopsy?
  4. What are your eligibility criteria/exclusion criteria for men to receive pre-biopsy mpMRI?
  5. What percentages of eligible men receive an mpMRI scan before biopsy as part of the initial diagnostic process?
  6. Has the percentage of eligible men receiving an mpMRI scan before biopsy increased in the last year?
    1. Yes
    2. No
  7. Are you using mpMRI before biopsy to rule some men out of a biopsy as part of the initial diagnostic process?
    1. Yes
    2. No
    3. What percentage of men are ruled out of a biopsy?
  8. What mpMRI scores and/or other clinical factors are used to rule men out of biopsy?

    3. PSAD
    4. OTHER
  9. Do you intend to rule some men out of a biopsy in future?
  10. Do you carry out targeted biopsies in men with mpMRI lesions in addition to systematic biopsies?
    1. Yes – cognitive/visual estimation
    2. Yes – Image-fusion
    3. No – Systematic only
  11. In the last year, have you been successful in securing funding or new resources to provide or increase the use of mpMRI before biopsy?
    1. Yes
    2. No
  12. Which of the following, if any, would help you adopt the use of mpMRI before biopsy?

    8. Additional training for radiologists
    9. Other
    10. If you ticked ‘Reduced mpMRI scan time’ please estimate current scan time

  4. There are no set criteria. We do not routinely offer this service but will occasionally perform them when requested. There is ongoing work to introduce a new regional wide Pre-biopsy mpMRI pathway in the next couple of months.
  5. We do not routinely record the requested data and to determine if we hold this information would require a manual trawl through paper records. This would constitute a disproportionate effort to retrieve and would exceed 18 hours. This information is therefore exempt on the grounds of cost (Section 12(1)).
