Specialist Cancer Nurse, Liz Darling, bid farewell to her colleagues last week at her retirement party.
Liz has worked for the NHS for an amazing 46 years.
Work friends, old and new, came to see Liz and wish her well.
Sarah Burchett will be replacing Liz as Upper GI Cancer Nurse Specialist.
She said: “I’ve only been a nurse for six years.
“Nobody can fill Liz’s shoes, but I hope to do a good job.”
Liz said: “I feel OK at the moment, but I will see how I feel when I say goodbye on the unit.
“I did get upset earlier as people have been very kind.”
