Mark Hatch
Clinical Skills Facilitator - Simulation Lead

Mark joined the team as Simulation Lead and has worked, with a background in Anaesthetics, Scrub and Post-Anaesthetic Care in Theatres for 19 years, and has worked for the Trust since 2005. He has worked as a Clinical Mentor, Team Lead, and as part of the Theatre Practice Development Team since 2013, supporting the multidisciplinary theatre team. He has a keen interest in working with clinical teams to develop the role of Human Factors and Simulation and Technology Enhanced Learning across the Trust with the focus on patient and staff safety.

Anne-Marie Walker
Clinical Skills Facilitator - Post Graduate Lead
RGN, Honorary Clinical Tutor Liverpool University, ALS and APLS Provider.
Anne-Marie has worked for the trust for 20 years. As a registered general nurse with a background in ED and AMU, both here in the UK and New Zealand. Anne-Marie is responsible for the post graduate FY1 and FY2 clinical skill and teaching programme, including various modalities of teaching. She delivers teaching on the Rolling Programme and facilitates delivery of Simulation.

Neil Berrigan
Clinical Skills Facilitator - Rolling Programme Lead
RGN (Adult) ALS Provider. Currently working towards a Certificate in Education
Neil Qualified as a registered Adult Nurse in 2001. After gaining Cardiac experience at Salford Royal Hospital Neil moved to Blackpool and worked across both the unscheduled and scheduled care divisions. Neil worked in Cardiac Theatres for 12 years as a scrub nurse also providing support as a clinical mentor, team lead and as an active member of the Practice Development team. Neil facilitates and delivers training on the Trust Rolling Programme and facilitates on Simulation programmes, enhancing patients safety, providing up to date evidence based teaching & simulation.

Melissa Mitchell
Clinical Skills Facilitator - Rolling Programme
RGN (Adult), ILS Provider, BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Melissa has worked for the trust for 9 years and started as a Healthcare Assistant in unscheduled care. Melissa qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2016 and has a background in Cardiothoracic Ward Care, Cardiac Theatres and Cardiovascular Research before joining the team. Melissa facilitates and co-ordinates on the Rolling Programme and assists in delivering Simulation sessions. Melissa is the Social Media and Wellbeing Champion for the department.

Carol Park
Practice Development Midwife - Medical Education
RGN, Dip Mid, BSC in Health Studies with Hons in Midwifery, Honorary Clinical Tutor Liverpool University.
Carol has been a Midwife in Blackpool for 29 years, having previously qualified as an RGN in Manchester. She has worked in all areas of the women's unit, however her forte is Delivery Suite. Carol joined the Medical Education Team in 2013 and organises the medical students' timetable during their placements on Obstetric and Gynaecology. Carol works with the medical students clinically and also delivers a number of teaching sessions and delivers in case based learning.

Chris Veevers
Clinical Skills Facilitator - Undergraduate Lead
Chris has joined the Team following a 30-year career in the Ambulance service. As a Paramedic he has worked operationally on Ambulance's, Cars and Motorbikes as well as the Air Ambulance. He has been interested in Education for many years and has been an Educator in the Ambulance Service for many years as well as other organisations. He has a passion in improving patient care and Human Factors. Chris is the Clinical Facilitator looking after the Undergraduate Medical Students, helping them find their feet and supporting their futures through both classroom based and immersive simulated learning.

Steven Heald
Technical Support Officer for Simulation and Clinical Skills
BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Steve is the newest member of the team and joined in May 2021. Steve has worked within the trust since 2019 and began as a member of the resuscitation department, delivering basic life support and immediate life support. Before he joined the NHS he worked in the leisure industry, and has a wide and varied teaching background in areas from kayaking, sailing, to archery and target shooting, and even bush craft and survival skills.
