Ward receives kind donation thanks to a former patient

Members of staff on Ward 37 with the donated gifts

PEOPLE  on Ward 37 are to benefit this Christmas thanks to a kind donation from the family of a former patient.

The ward has received a number of specially packed gift bags that include items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap alongside gifts including magazines, puzzle books and a picture frame to help make their stay better on the ward over the festive period.

Staff Nurse on Ward 37, Jordanna Darwen, said: “We were delighted to receive the gifts. It’s such  a lovely touch. The packs are really thoughtful and will be really appreciated by the patients who receive them.

“The people who donated them want to remain anonymous but a member of their family had a long stay on Ward 37 a couple of years ago and have always been very grateful for the treatment they received.

“We would like to thank them for thinking of us and our patients.’’

Each gift set came with a personalised tag from the donors who wrote: “We are so sorry that you have had to come into hospital unexpectedly. We hope this helps a little.’’
