Taekwondo champ praise for Long Covid service

Dianne Russell a European taekwondo champion from the Fylde Coast, has spoken about how the Long Covid Service at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals has helped her overcome the worst of the debilitating illness.

In this month’s Patient Story, Dianne, who is a Martial Arts Instructor in Taekwondo, and a current European Champion, European Silver Medallist and a World Championship Coach discusses how her health has deteriorated since contracting COVID and how this has impacted on her life and mental health.

Dianne explains that the Long COVID service has been key to helping her on the road to recovery, providing her with a single point of contact and supporting her throughout her journey.   Helen Duggan, Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist and Andrea Jarvis, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist respond to Dianne’s story.
