Sexual health experts to offer free testing and advice at Blackpool Gay Pride event

A team of experts will be on hand to give advice and support on sexual health issues such as HIV at the forthcoming Gay Pride event in Blackpool.

Gay Pride is being held at the resort’s Winter Gardens on Saturday, June 11 and members of the Blood Borne Viruses team from Blackpool

Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be available to meet members of the public to provide information and support.

They will also be promoting blood testing for HIV and testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. The team will have a stall and a private room for testing and advice in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens.

The results for HIV will be given on the Monday following Blackpool Pride Festival. The other results will take up to two weeks after testing.

The team will also offer Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus advice as well as free condoms and free giveaways.
