Scheduled Care Band 6 Development Programme success

A Scheduled Care development programme for Band 6 nurses has been branded a success.

The Band 6 Core Development Programme for nurses in Scheduled Care was introduced to support succession planning and aims to supplement the Trust Leadership Programme by providing study days from subject experts.

The main focus of the course is on the practical elements of the Ward Manager’s role with patient safety being the central theme.

It has also provided a great opportunity for Band 6 nurses from Surgery, Cardiac and Orthopaedic to meet up and reflect on current practice.

Programme coordinators were: Julia Rhodes, Practice Development Sister; Karen Smith, Matron and Richard Matthews, Quality Manager.

They thanked everyone who contributed to the programme.
