What is the Registration Authority
The organisation Registration Authority is the service responsible for the issuance, governance and administration of NHS Smartcards. These Smartcards are used for accessing a number of national systems such as Choose and Book, Emis Web, and Summary Care Record, but are also used for accessing local systems such as Windows authentication, e-learning mandatory training, and Canon printers situated across the organisation. They can also be used to view your personal information via ESR Self Service which includes the ability to view payslips and payment information.
Your manager will book an appointment for you prior to you starting. This will be booked for you to attend on your first day in post. This appointment will be with the digital services team (registration authority team) and during this contact you will be issued with your Smartcard, ID badge and windows login.
