The area of Urological Medicine deals with diseases of the urinary tract in both men and women including the kidneys, ureters (the tubes that drain from the kidneys into the bladder) the bladder and the urethra (water pipe). It also deals with the male genital organs.

The Urology Unit is situated on the ground floor in the Surgical Centre (Area 7). It is a purpose built facility designed to help deliver a wide range of urological assessments and treatments. This includes a prostate biopsy room, Cystoscopy Suite, Urodynamic Assessment area, Nurse-led treatment room and six clinical / assessment areas.

Opening hours are:
  • 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday (excluding bank holidays)
  • 8am – 4pm Friday (excluding bank holidays)
  • Closed Saturday and Sunday

Ward 15a is a designated Urological Ward situated on the first floor in the Surgical Centre (Area 7). It is staffed with experienced Nurses who are able to deliver a high standard of care to patients after surgery and managing long-term or emergency urology conditions.
