We encourage our staff, patients and visitors to use public transport where possible as this reduces congestion and saves car parking spaces for those who must use a car.
Bus stops are situated on Whinpark Avenue, near the Outpatient Department for Lines 2, 2C, 5 and 15, and along Whinney Heys Road, outside the Women’s Unit and close to the Lancashire Cardiac Centre for the Line 16.
Metro Coastlines operates a comprehensive network of 26 buses per hour from Victoria Hospital.
If you do not live near to one of these routes it may be possible to use another service to interchange onto a hospital bound service, particularly the 2/2C, 5 and 15, which all pass through Blackpool town centre. It is easy to interchange onto the frequent line 5 service; its hospital bound stop is sited in Corporation Street immediately adjacent to stops for Lines 6, 7, 11 and 14. The Blackpool Transport Services information shop is sited round the corner in Market Street (look for Cahoots pub), where stops for these services’ alternate direction are sited.
There are bus information stands around the hospital, including one at the reception desk at the entrance to the Outpatient Department.
Blackpool libraries, Customer First Centre and Tourist Information Centre all hold bus timetables and network maps.
