Why do we need a Quality Improvement Methodology?
At Blackpool, we are on a journey to improve the quality of care and outcomes that we deliver. To achieve this we will have to be innovative, think differently and give staff, at every level, the skills they need to lead and make change. This will not be easy but by focusing on what matters most to our patients, their families and staff, we will make our services more effective, empower our staff and improve patient experience and outcomes.
The Trust has been supported by NHSI and has ‘signed up’ to be a ‘QSIR Trust.’ This means the main methodology for QI will follow the QSIR principles. By providing a structured approach with a clear methodology and systematic use of evidence-based tools, processes and measurement it will support continuous and sustained improvements.
