Therapies

We have a highly skilled, dedicated team of Therapists in Occupational Health. We are able to provide confidential support to staff who may be struggling with certain aspects of their health in work.

Our Counselling Team can help by offering a safe and confidential place to explore any difficulties in your life. The counsellor will not judge you or make decisions for you but will help you to explore options for change and help you make choices.

Our Specialist CBT Team can provide enhanced support, helping people to develop skills and strategies to cope with issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders and other stress related issues.

Our Hypnotherapist can guide employees through states of anxiety and can also provide tips on mindfulness and relaxation. Each person’s needs are assessed on an individual basis. Hypnotherapy endeavours to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the mind enabling such things as phobias, irrational fears, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome. Hypnosis provided by our department is for therapy purposes only.

Our Specialised Physiotherapist in Occupational Health work to improve the health and wellbeing of workers so that they can do their jobs effectively and efficiently. This allows workers to avoid sickness and injury as well as the secondary health consequences of sickness absence. Rapid access to Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists can reduce the amount of time people are off sick and is vital in preventing a new acute problem becoming chronic and long lasting. The Therapist can provide advice and guidance on workplace adjustments and can perform hands-on treatment including acupuncture, massage, exercise therapy, advice, education, mobilisation and manipulation of joints and tissues.
