The Coronary Care Unit is a seven bedded high dependency area caring for patients following an acute heart attack/heart rhythm disturbance/acute heart failure/primary angioplasty and other cardiac conditions. All patients are under the care of a consultant cardiologist.
We are a small team of enthusiastic and dedicated nurses and we aim to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible as being in a high dependency area can be stressful – there is a lot of monitoring equipment and noisy alarms, we will provide you and your family/close friends with support and guidance.
We have a small relatives room which can be used by family and friends.
Mealtimes for the patients are between 08:15 -09:00, 12:15 – 13:00 and 17:15-18:00.
Ward visiting: 2pm – 4pm, 6pm – 8 pm. Monday – Sunday. Maximum three visitors per patient. Other visiting by arrangement, depending on patient condition.

Located on the first floor of Lancashire Cardiac Centre, through Ward 37 at the end of the corridor.
