Databases & Evidence Based Resources

NHS staff and members of the wider 'NHS Family' can access key medical, nursing, allied health and health management databases.

You will need your NHS OpenAthens username and password.

**Changes to health information resources.

From 1st April 2019 there will be a number of changes to the resources provided by HEE for NHS healthcare staff.

New resources:

Ovid Emcare a nursing and allied health database ideal for practice, research, or education.

EBSCO Psychology & Behavioral Sciences is a a comprehensive database providing nearly 560 full-text publications covering topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology.

No longer available:

Health Business Elite (HBE) will no longer be part of the subscription and will therefore no longer send any alerts you may have set up.

PubMed is freely available without the need for a password, however links to articles from journals subscribed to by the NHS and our own library service will require an NHS OpenAthens password to access the full text.
