Dr Walter Bottomley has been a consultant dermatologist since 1995. He has a special interest in dermatological surgery and treatment of skin cancer.

Dr Monica Bhushan has been a consultant dermatologist since 2001. Dr Bhushan is skin cancer lead for the department and is also involved in the dermatology education of Liverpool University medical students.

Dr John Forgie is an associate specialist who is on the specialist register for dermatology. He runs the patch test service.

Dr Ibrahim Salah is an associate specialist with wide experience in skin surgery.

Meet the Nursing team

Alannah Fell is the dermatology unit manager and has a specialist interest in eczema and camouflage. Alannah has worked in the department since 2013.

Jane Sanderson is the dermatology lead nurse who has a clinical and managerial role. She has worked in the department for 10 years and has specialist interests in inflammatory skin conditions and systemic drug monitoring. She is also an independent nurse prescriber.

Janette Fenton is the dermatology clinical nurse specialist and has numerous years of experience in all aspects of Dermatology. She specialises in biologic therapy for psoriasis, eczema and hidradenitis suppurativa as well as isotretinoin treatment for female patients with acne. She also performs skin surgery.

Michelle Forsyth is a Macmillan skin cancer care co-ordinator who provides clinical support to the skin cancer nursing team and helps raise skin cancer and sun safety awareness through outreach events and educational sessions. Michelle has been recently recognised for the excellence of her skin cancer work by the Trust.

Tony Eaton is a specialist nurse experienced in skin surgery.

Michelle Phillips is a dermatology nurse specialist who has worked in the department since 2005 and has specialist interests in the management of psoriasis, acne and biologic therapy.  She also performs skin surgery and is an independent nurse prescriber.

Emma Robinson is a dermatology nursing sister who has a specialist interest in the management of leg ulcers.

Gemma Brown is a skin cancer nurse specialist.

Joan De Vega is our Macmillan skin cancer nurse specialist who has previous experience in all aspects of dermatology.  She is a core member of our skin cancer multi-disciplinary team.

Heather Seed is a dermatology nursing sister. Heather has worked in the department since 2011 and has specialist interests in eczema and leg ulcer management.

The department is fortunate to have a wide range of staff nurses, assistant practitioners and healthcare assistants who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in dermatology.
