A Critical Care bed being prepared for the next patient
The department offers life support through a range of technical interventions. Our patients may be connected to a ventilator to assist with their breathing. They may need drugs to support their heart and blood pressure or their kidneys may need support from a kidney machine.
The multitude of equipment around and connected to your relative or friend can appear daunting at first but all of our Critical Care Nursing staff are skilled in explaining the purpose of the equipment, and will carefully explain our procedures.
