Community Occupational Therapy – Adults in Blackpool
(excluding those with a Learning Disability as that service is provided via a specialist service)
The Community Occupational Therapy service assesses an individual’s ability to carry out activities of daily living and helps to improve or retain skills. This may be through advice, education, practice and prescription of equipment as required enabling them to live independently. Including follow-up checks, visits and reviews.
They also assess and make recommendations for the adaptation of properties to meet the needs of the disabled occupant and work closely with Blackpool Council’s Care and Repair department to coordinate and approve the works.
Patients in Blackpool should contact their local GP surgery to get details of the relevant local team. Fylde and Wyre patients should contact Social Services who will make arrangements on their behalf.
