Rapid Response Service and IV (Intravenous Therapy) Therapy Service

The IV Therapy Service is a team of specially trained nurses that visit patients at home to administer Intravenous medications and treatments. Medical and nursing staff will assess patients and refer them to the Community IV Therapy Service if their condition is stable and they are able to receive support and treatment of their condition within their own home.

North Lancashire Sites and Contact Details

The Rapid Response & IV Team North is a team of specially trained staff that visit patients at home and visit the acute site to identify patients and support discharge home. They are based at the Southfield Unit on the RLI Site.

The RR & IV team cover the service from 8.30am to 7pm seven days a week, and have the support of the Evening and Night District Nursing service to provide the care from 7pm to 8am.
