The Community Dental Service offers a range of dental services for patients who, due to personal circumstances are not able to access services from general dental practices.
The services provided include the day time and out-of-hours emergency dental access service, special care dentistry, paediatric dentistry and dental treatment under sedation.

The service also has a role in improving the dental health of the local population by delivering dental health education, oral health improvement programmes and conducting epidemiological surveys.
