What Happens Next

When the department receives the referral, the patient will then be sent an ‘opt-in’ letter asking whether they would like an appointment to see a Dietitian and are given two weeks to reply.

  • Patients who opt-in are sent a convenient appointment at a locality clinic of their choice
  • Urgent case patients will be contacted by telephone
  • Please see Home Visit tab for further info on domiciliary visits.

Patients have two weeks to respond to the opt-in letter. If no response is received within this time, patients will be discharged
