Occupational Therapy _NEW.jpg

The Children's Occupational Therapy Service provides assessment and a range of therapeutic interventions.

We provide assessments and therapeutic interventions for a wide range of children and young people with mild, complex, severe, or enduring physical and/or developmental conditions affecting their ability to achieve their potential in terms of activities of daily living. Our task is to break down the steps to facilitate success and independence. The Paediatric Occupational Therapist helps to make changes in:

  • The child or young person – helping to develop skills for everyday tasks by providing advice, strategies or the delivery of a programme
  • The environment – For example, assessing and making recommendations for the provision of specialist equipment to enable the child or young person to access the education curriculum, increase their independence and/or to be cared for at home
