Meet the Team

Our acute dietetics team is made up of a variety of specialist dietitians, dietitians, assistant practitioners, dietetic support workers, administration and clerical.

The other half of our team ‘community dietetics’ are based in St Annes, we work together to help with patient transfer between the hospital and the community and the continuation of care.

These are some comments from members of our team:

"I have worked as a dietitian now for eight years and I love the variety my role gives me on a day to day basis. I like interacting with patients and finding out how I can help them and empower them to take control of their own health. I really enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the hospital and with other services and organisations in effort to improve the lives of others. Each day is a new learning experience"
Aoife, cystic fibrosis dietitian

"I’ve always had a keen interest in nutrition and how diet can be used to treat different health conditions. I also love meeting and talking to different people. Being a dietitian, I get to combine my passion for nutrition and love of meeting new people."
Grace, dietitian

"I have enjoyed being part of the dietetics department for the past seven years. We are a friendly and professional team with a lot of support for each other. It is very important to me to help care for the nutritional wellbeing of our patients and very rewarding to see improvements."
Lisa, dietetic support worker

"I enjoy supporting people to improve their knowledge, confidence and ability to effectively self-manage their conditions. I help people to make both dietary and lifestyle changes and also how to adjust their medications to best meet their needs to help them to achieve their goals."
Simon, diabetes and specialist weight management

"My name is Abby and I have been a dietitian for three years. I enjoy providing dietetic care for a range of individuals. I am currently working on a catering project at the hospital, this involves completing a nutritional analysis on the meals provided within the hospital to ensure the Trust are meeting national recommendations. I am excited to finish the project, with the support and help from the catering team, to ensure the best meal service is provided for all inpatients at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. I love food and experimenting with new recipes, so getting to talk about food all day is great!"
