HUNDREDS of visitors turned up to a maternity event held at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Maternity Live was open to all and contained a variety of stalls, tours of the Birthing Centre and a host of advice for parents and those thinking of having a family.
Visitors were offered plenty of advice including Optimal Cord Clamping, Skin to Skin, feeding advice and a flu jab clinic.
Antenatal and Newborn Screening Midwife, Lisa Murphy, organised the event.
She said: “We were originally planning an open flu vaccination session for pregnant ladies and decided to make it a bigger event.
“We wanted to let potential patients and their families see just how fantastic our staff and facilities are here in Blackpool.

“We had so many stalls from different services and teams so that all the expectant mums hopefully came away with a lot more knowledge.
“Thanks to everyone that came along and huge thanks to the local businesses who kindly donated food for our visitors.”
Head of Midwifery, Nicola Parry, said: “This event has gone wonderfully well.
“It has been a joint production between us and the community which gives the best outcomes for families.
“Many thanks too to all the local businesses that have supported the event.”
