Dr Amal Bose, Blackpool consultant
A TRUST consultant has been appointed to a senior role within a prestigious national body.
Mr Amal Bose, a Cardiothoracic Consultant in the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, has been appointed as treasurer to the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery In Great Britain and Ireland.
The appointment means he becomes an executive member of the board at the society.
Mr Bose said: “I’m delighted to get this post both on a personal level and in terms of recognising that work that takes place in the Lancashire Cardiac Centre. It obviously means the centre is held in high regard nationally which is good to know.”
Mr Bose says the role will involve looking after the society’s budgets as well as planning how the budget could be best spent in terms of how to develop surgeons of the future.
