How patients can help Celebrate Success at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals – Deadline extended.

Patients’ Award winner 2019, Aoife Healy

Before Covid-19 struck, outstanding NHS employees of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were honoured annually in the glittering ceremony. This year it returns on a virtual stage…

We are asking patients, carers, relatives and members of the public to nominated staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to care for patients and their families.

The highly coveted Patients’ Award category has attracted more than 200 nominations in previous years for teams and individuals working for the Trust. The winner and two runner ups receive a prestigious trophy and special certificate with winners announced in a special live virtual stream from a special TV studio set.

At the last event held at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, the judging panel was delighted that so many people took the time to nominate members of staff for The Patients’ Award and they are looking forward to reading about the care you or your loved ones have received from Trust staff.

If you would like to nominate a member of staff from either the community or acute hospital who gave you, or someone in your family, an exceptional level of care – we’d love to hear from you.

Trish Armstrong-Child, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “Our Celebrating Success Awards recognise the exceptional work that is carried out by our staff. We are privileged to have these highly committed members of staff who strive for excellence and are constantly working to provide the best care possible for our patients.

All our colleagues across the Trust are very special people but there will be examples of outstanding compassion, care and going the extra mile, especially under the challenges of the last two years of the Covid pandemic. We want to hear all of these exemplary individuals and teams and give them the well-earned recognition they deserve.”

The last physical event was held in 2019 and the winner was specialist dietician, Aoife Healy. She was nominated by a number of patients who commented on her professionalism, compassion and care.
