Blue Skies Hospitals Fund, the charity for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has been selected by Asda Blackpool as one of its three charities of the month.

From now and throughout May, shoppers at the store on Cherry Tree Road can ask at the till for their green tokens, and select one of three charities to support by placing the tokens in the respective containers in the Blackpool Community Life section.

Each charity will receive a donation from Asda at the end of the month, but the charity with the most tokens will receive a larger sum of money.

Caroline Scholz, Head of Fundraising at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, said: “We are extremely grateful to Asda Blackpool for choosing to support our charity. The money donated at the end of May will be used to enhance patient care across the Trust, wherever it is needed most.

“We want as many people as possible to support Blue Skies Hospitals Fund though this excellent giving initiative at Asda Blackpool. Please remember to get your tokens when you do your shop and choose to support your local hospital.”

Representatives from the charity have been invited into the store during the month to give information to shoppers about the work it does to support patients across the region.

Caroline added: “As well as helping us to raise money, this green token scheme is helping us to spread the word about the good work of Blue Skies Hospitals Fund. That really is priceless.”
