Hospital appeals for large print books

DO you have any large print books that would like to donate to hospital patients?

Library trolley volunteers at Blackpool Victoria Hospital have seen an increase in requests for large print books from patients who often spend long periods of time in hospital and are asking the public for donations.

Voluntary Services Manager at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, Hannah Foxcroft, said: “The library trolley service visits the wards with a wide selection of books for patients to read which is greatly appreciated by the patients.

“We do stock large print books but there has been a noticeable increase in demand for them lately and it would be really nice to get more stock of available books in for our patients.’’

If you have any large print books in good condition that you would like to donate, please contact Laura Sims in the Trust’s educational library on 01253 956688.

Alternatively you can drop off the books at the Voluntary Services Team office on the ground floor at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

  • THE Trust is currently recruiting new volunteers within many of our voluntary groups.
