BTH’s Vanya Fidling has retired after more than 30 years

Recently we said a sad farewell to a member of pharmacy staff who has been with the Trust for 34 years.

Vanya Fidling, Assistant Director of Pharmacy, joined the department in 1987 from a short spell at North Staffordshire Hospital and went on to become the Medicine Information, Education and Training Manager before taking the assistant director job in 2003.

Rebecca Bond, Director of Pharmacy, passed on her tribute to Vanya saying: “We are losing a very valued colleague from the department. Vanya is a hardworking, reliable and friendly team member who is seen as the mother figure to the clinical pharmacists.’’

Vanya thanked colleagues for her leaving gifts saying: “This has been more than just a job for me.

“I regard everyone as part of my family and I will miss everyone.

“I made Blackpool my home and I have absolutely no regrets. I have had a ball and everyone has contributed to that.’’
